Fixing Holes and Dents in Bodywork

If your car's bodywork happens to have some unsightly holes and dents, you do not need to spend a lot of money by bringing it to a repair shop. Instead, you can do the work yourself by following the instructions on this short guide. You are going to need paint, abrasive paper, filler, solvent wipes, and a glass repair kit.

Start by removing any rust on the body with a wire brush. You may also use a sanding disk in a drill. Make sure that you expose the bare metal. Next, take some fibreglass paste and mix it with some hardener. Apply this paste behind the car's holes and firmly press it in. Once the paste has hardened, you can sand off any extras that may be sticking out. Then, mix the filler with the hardener. Apply this to the surface where you sanded off the fibreglass paste. Wait until the mixture hardens and sand it using sand paper. Remove any grease and dust with one of the solvent wipes. Get some primer in a can and apply it to the surface of the filler. After it has dried, wet sand it and spray another coat of the stuff. Wet sand again and repeat the procedure until the surface is smooth and perfect. Finally, apply the paint and give the car at least three coats. Wait for the paint to dry and polish the area until it matches the shade on the rest of your vehicle.

With these simple steps, you can keep your car in good condition without having to spend a large amount of cash.
